Exciting Growth at Seven!!!
2006 Review and 2007 Preview
Our mission continues: We strive to be the nation's number one Energy Consulting firm! We will work in close partnership with the top Energy Suppliers in the nation to achieve this end. We appreciate our suppliers and the work that they have done to help us mutually serve our Clients. As always, please let me know what our firm can do to improve in order to be your favorite Consulting Firm!
A sincere thank you for helping us with the relentless pursuit of this goal.
10-Year Anniversary!
In June of 2007, we will celebrate our 10th year of being in business! We started out as J. Andrew Associates, Inc., www.jandrewassociates.com, a contingency fee-based Cost Reduction and Purchasing Consulting Firm. Upon electricity deregulation in Texas, we devoted all of our resources to Energy and founded Seven - Utility Management Consultants, Ltd. www.sevenutility.com.
I attribute our successes to blessings from God, hard work, dedication and having the right business relationships. —This means you! Thank you.
Office Relocation and Upgrade
After 2.5 years at our old location in NW Houston, we have significantly upgraded our office. Our headquarters now occupy 2500 sf of first class office space! In 1Q 2007, we will be planning an open house for our valued Supplier Partners! (Of course, our clients are invited to review our operation anytime.) We also welcome you to visit our offices individually and present your firm's services at one of our monthly sales meetings. Please contact Christopher Mendez, our Senior Pricing Manager, cmendez@sevenutility.com, to schedule a time.
One Billion kWh Under Management
In 3Q 2006, we surpassed the 1,000,000,000 kWh mark! We are very proud of this accomplishment, yet we still see this as the “tip of the iceberg”. In 2007, we will set goals for kWh and Decatherms of Natural Gas.

We will also be adding an Energy Analyst, which will enter our training program to eventually run the operations of a new office. Please see these job descriptions at, www.sevenutility.com/jobs.html. We greatly appreciate any referrals of high quality professionals looking to improve themselves!
We currently have 22 highly skilled professionals at our firm. You can see their bios at http://www.sevenutility.com/consultants.html. Our pricing desk is streamlined and process oriented. The Single Point of Contact is much appreciated by our Suppliers. We have made great strides in centralizing this, yet we are still improving.
Our team is comprised of two Pricing Managers, one Energy Consultant Manager, one Managing Director, our President and 17 Energy Consultants. The Energy Consultants market to both large industrial and small commercial clients. 12 are located in Texas, 3 in Chicago, one in New York and one in Ohio.
Announcement of ESOP Program
In 2007, we are planning to initiate an Employee Stock Option Program for top personnel. We truly want our employees to have ownership in the overall long-term growth of the firm.
Seven to Open Midwest Office
We are proud to welcome Tim Krajenke to our team. He will be training in Houston for 3 months and plans to open a branch office in the Midwest. (Location to be determined). We are in the process of building this team.
We will continue to open offices in different markets as we grow. We will do so with slow, steady growth. We will employ only top professionals who are fully trained and immersed in our culture of Honesty and Integrity.
Energy Aggregation
We have applied for our Energy Aggregator's license in the ERCOT market. We have completed successful "trial runs" in each of these categories, with great success. We are in the final stages of launching the following proprietary electricity aggregations. These will save our Clients money as well as consolidate large volumes for our Suppliers. If you are in Texas, chances are we have contacted you:
- Building Owners and Property Managers Aggregation.
- Church and Houses of Worship Aggregation.
- Residential Aggregation for 100+ residences.
Special Notes to Our Suppliers
ERCOT (Texas) Market
Our deal flow in the Texas market has been slow this quarter. Reason #1; growth in other markets! Researching, beginning and building new Supplier relationships in these markets take a serious time commitment. It took us 2.5 years to build our Supplier relationships in Texas. We will continue to invest the necessary time to work with the top Suppliers in the nation. This past quarter has reminded me of our past experiences in learning the ERCOT market. We have learned from our successes and failures. We are excited to continue to roll out our expertise nationwide!
National Outlook
We are proud to announce that we have closed business in every deregulated electricity market, and the majority of deregulated natural gas markets. We truly act as our Client's Energy Manager across the country. As different markets deregulate, we immediately avail our clients to this. We have applied for, and received licenses in every state in which licensing is necessary.
As the ERCOT (Texas) market matures, it has become easier to market in other parts of the country. Many of our Suppliers also recognize this industry trend and are also expanding their capabilities. We look forward to our mutual growth into new and existing markets.
We will continue to monitor every market. We appreciate you sharing your market knowledge with us. I.e., what's hot and what's not? You are our “Eyes and Ears” in the deregulated marketplace. We're proud of what we've initially accomplished in these markets and thank our Suppliers for investing the time to assist with our Firm's learning curve.
Closed Deal Feedback
I have promised each of you anonymous feedback on closed deals. Everyone appreciates this. Unfortunately, this is being suspended due to the number of REP's that call on our clients in the month prior to renewal. -An unintended consequence of providing the "naked" price and term to all bidders.
I respect the amount of time that it takes you to provide pricing. I would still like to give you feedback on deals that you bid. However, I need to ask your help in how to best do that. Let me know if you have a solution.
Small Commercial and Residential Program
In 2007, we will be building 3 separate teams to market to Small Commercial and Residential clients in various markets. We are currently training 3 Energy Consultants to lead these teams, and putting the finishing touches on our marketing plans. Historically, about 25% of our overall business has been Small Commercial.
Renewed Focus on Large Industrial Clients
As our firm has matured, we have acquired a greater number of Large Commercial and Industrial Clients. In 2007, we will be more aggressively marketing to large commercial and industrial clients.
Special Notes to our Clients
Our Client Service
For our Clients, we provide assistance with anything energy related. Full service energy management includes much more than negotiating your contract. We will help the client with billing issues, drops and adds, invoice reconciliation, etc. We contact each of our clients on a quarterly basis at minimum. We will renegotiate or blend and extend if beneficial. We will also field all sales calls from Energy Companies. When you are called, simply tell them that you are professionally represented by Seven - Utility Management Consultants, Ltd, and give them our phone number.
National Outlook
If you have locations in other parts of the country or other divisions, please send us your complete list of locations. Even if there is not 100% common ownership, we can often leverage these deals together.
We will put all of your locations in our database, and either work on them now, or as soon as they deregulate.

Predominant Use Studies
Our firm now performs predominant use studies in every market in which the sales tax laws are beneficial.
New Meter Turn On's
No more hassle of dealing with the local utility company to “turn the lights on”. We will handle all correspondence for you.
Once again, I truly thank you for working with our firm to achieve our mutual objectives. Our relationship with you is extremely important.
Thank you for your faith in our services.
Best in Success and Happiness in 2007!
